Three Weeks of Lockdown
It was three weeks ago today when Mayor London Breed asked all San Franciscans to stay home and shelter in place. I honestly thought it was going to be hard. Well, three weeks have passed and I have managed. In fact, we're on for another month since we've been asked to stay home until the first week of May for good measure.
I have never experienced anything like this before and it never dawned on me that going out of the house and being surrounded by people would someday be a scary thought like it does now. I suppose the news of healthy people getting the corona virus and gasping for breath in hospital beds is enough to make people realize that what we are battling now is no joke. It is real and serious.
Since the shelter in place took effect, I have been sleeping, watching TV, and reading a lot. Lately too, I have been working from home and teaching online now that schools are closed and I cannot be with my students to teach them in person.
Over the weeks, many people have expressed their frustration at not being able to go out and go about their daily life. Well, I too hope and pray this pandemic will be over soon. Right about now, nothing can be sweeter than the time we will once again be free and not worry about catching any virus that can potentially cut our life on this planet. I sure hope it will be soon.
