The City of Barranco

13-Dec-2019 • Barranco. Lima Peru

Even before arriving in Lima, I already knew the places I wanted to see and visit. Barranco, the bohemian district of the Peruvian capital and said to be walking distance from Miraflores, was one of them.

On our second to the last day in Lima, Marc and I visited the place and we walked along the Miraflores waterfront to get there. It took at least 40 minutes to get to the main square.

In hindsight, I wish we stopped by some of the famous museums there like Mario Testino's as well as the Contemporary Museum of Art. Anyway, not being able to see it on this trip gives us another reason to visit, right?

I was told that people come to Barranco for the night life and its most famous attraction, the Puente de Suspiros or the Bridge of Sighs. I read that if you make a wish and hold your breath while you cross the bridge, your wish will come true. Well, I did! But thing is, I don't remember what I wished for!

There were lots of murals in Barranco. This was one of them.
