The Museum of Cyprus

4-Aug-2019 • Nicosia Cyprus, Republic

One of the highly recommended sights in Nicosia was the Museum of Cyprus. Marc and I walked to it from Ledras Street. It was in the city center but still a walk from where we were. Anyway, we enjoyed the stroll as it gave us the chance to see more of Nicosia.

When we arrived, we were informed that the museum was going to close in two hours. We didn't think twice about going inside. We figured we were already there and we didn't have the luxury of time. Anyway, the museum was not that big and we were able to see the entire place.

It reminded me very much of the Archaeological Museum of Athens. There were lots of statues and figurines made of stone. Do I recommend a visit?

Definitely! It gives visitors a quick overview of the culture and history of the country.

This was the last attraction we visited during our very quick visit to Cyprus. I know Marc and I barely scratched the surface when we traveled to the island. I would love to return and see Limassol and Larnaca.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here not to mention the seafood! I just hope it won't take decades before I return.
