The Mezquita Inside the Cathedral of Cordoba, Part 2

Have I ever told you that I have nearly 50 big photo albums at home? If I had space in my apartment, I would have probably kept scrap booking to this day. I do take a lot of pictures when I travel and the reason for that is because I want to remember all the trips I've taken as much as I can. I didn't carefully plan my trips and spent lots of money on them only to let the memories to go up in smoke one day. No siree!

The only thing I dislike about posting the pictures in my blog is that I have to edit them first and of course, try my best to make them look pretty. The entire process takes time especially since I take hundreds of pictures.

This entry shows more scenes inside the Mezquita which is also located within the huge Cathedral of Cordoba. I truly liked this cathedral. It was awesome to say the least. I felt the same way when I was inside the Vatican in Rome. I wanted to linger and live the entire experience to the hilt.

Entrances like this lined the sides of the cathedral. I liked them a whole lot!

Me inside the Mezquita

The Mezquita. Prior to coming over to Cordoba, I didn't know that entire site was inside the cathedral. It was my Portuguese friend, Marco Fereira, who told us all about it over dinner during our last night in Lisbon.

Given the size of the cathedral, it was no surprise there were many small chapels inside. The following pictures show what the altars looked like.

There were many tourists that morning we arrived. In fact, many stayed and gathered by the entrance where we saw the striped columns of the cathedral right away. Little did we know then that the mezquita was extensive and we could take more pictures of it from the deeper part of the cathedral.

I must say, all Spanish cathedrals are so lavish in décor and design. No doubt, they were built to impress!
