On our first day in Lisbon, Marc and I were met by an Instagram friend, Marco Ferreira. He came and picked us up at our hotel, the Ibis Liberdade, and toured us around. Throughout our stay, he actually toured us around three times.
With Marco Ferreira. Muito obrigado dear friend!
A view of the city of Lisbon with the Castelo de Sao Jorge on top of the hill
Me next to a funicular
A lovely tram which locals and tourists alike took to travel within the city
The façade of the Church of San Roque. Now this was an amazing church. My mouth opened wide as soon as I saw all the gold in the altars inside.
Inside the Church of San Roque. Marc and I were really floored by all the gold inside this church. The main altar was just magnificent!
Another altar
and another
The Barrio Alto Marco said it was the area full of bars and dance clubs.
It was while walking along the old section of Lisbon that we heard beautiful singing by a group of men. Turns out it was this choral group. They sang so marvelously. Such culture!
There were plenty of trams in Lisbon. Lots and lots of them.
The Miradouro da Santa Catarina. I saw lots of people here. Many of them young. This was quite one amazing overlook.
La Plaza de Pessoa
This is where we had dinner. We ate what looked like empanadas with fish and cheese inside.
Every morning at breakfast I ate four natas. I couldn't help it, they were just so delicious!
