Beautiful Rich Portuguese Culture

8-Aug-2018 • Lisbon Portugal

As our friend, Marco, toured us around Lisbon on our first afternoon, we saw a parade of men, women, and children in traditional dress from the olden days. The colorful line ended up in a small square where a stage had been built. The participants took turns going up on stage and began performing. Some gave speeches, while others danced and sang. It was nice to watch. Marco, had explained from which province the people came from but I can no longer recall what he said. Anyway, I was quite impressed.

Then several blocks later while we were literally gawking at the sights of the city, we could hear beautiful singing from a group of men. It was loud and melodious. So, so beautiful. Turns out there was a male choral group walking around and stopping to serenade the crowds. Oh, it was so amazing. "Such rich culture!" I told myself.

This was male choral group which serenaded and delighted the crowds of locals and tourists alike with their beautiful voices and Portuguese songs. Oh what a delight to have experienced this in Lisbon!
