Our Second Day in Chicago

7-Sep-2017 • Chicago, Illinois United States

Marc and I had a rather late start to our second day in Chicago last August. We couldn't help it. We had very little sleep the night before. It didn't bother us as much though since we knew the day was long and sunset wasn't going to happen til after six.

Our hotel, the La Quinta Inn and Suites, was so centrally located in the financial district, walking to the sights was easy. We passed by the Chicago Board of Trade building where I had my picture taken on my very first trip to the windy city back in the late 1990s. Then we headed to the park to revisit the Buckingham Fountain. Little did I know there were three new attractions there now. There was the famous water Crown Foutain and the Bean. There was even the open air Jay Pritzker Pavilion.

The Federal Reserve Bank where there was a money museum with free admission. We didn't get to visit this though.

Memories, memories! Marc and I had dinner here on our very first visit to Chicago together.

An impressive model of the Chicago skyline.

Down memory lane. I had my picture taken right by Buckingham Fountain on my first visit to Chicago. Didn't realize it would take nearly 20 years before I would return. But, hey, I made it back. It's all that matters.
