I first saw the impressive Congress building in Buenos Aires as we rode the cab from the airport to our hotel along Avenida Corrientes. "Wow!" was the word that came out of my mouth. The facade with its impressive architecture was indeed a sight. I knew right away I had to see it up close and at my leisure.

Well, we did so on our second afternoon in BA. One unfortunate event did happen to us shortly after we left the area where the Congress building was. Someone or better yet, some people decided to play a prank on us called the Bird Poop scam. While walking back to the hotel on the same avenue where Congress was, Marc, my partner, complained that some bird dropped its poop on his head. He did feel something gooey on the top of his head and I saw his backpack as well as the back of his shirt with lots of yellow greenish stains. I touched one and it smelled like mustard. I knew what it was and said, "Bird poop scam!"

There was one young lady who approached Marc but she left as soon as she heard me say it was a scam. We kept on walking, this time, a bit shaken knowing fully well what had happened and thinking some bad elements could be following us.

Marc told me that my backpack had lots of stain as well. It was a good thing we reached our hotel safe and sound. We laugh about the experience now but we did get nervous when it happened. It was a good thing we had read about the scam on Tripadvisor and knew what it was all about.
