Tanah Lot
On our second full day of sightseeing in Bali, our cab driver and guide, I Wayan Nala, first took us to Tanah Lot. Just like many of the attractions in the island, there were hundreds of tourists at the site making picture taking a real challenge. Anyway, we did what we could and this is what we saw. Once again, I was just so thankful to finally see in person what I had for years seen on the pages of travel books and magazines as well as on countless TV travel programs about Bali.
I found it rather interesting to see that to reach the main entrance, visitors first had to pass through stalls after stalls of souvenir shops. It was here where I eventually caved in and bought three framed paintings. I just couldn't resist. The three oil paintings about Balinese life are now on display in our home in San Francisco.
