Bali, Second Day

6-May-2017 • Bali Lesser Sunda Islands

We were in Bali for a very limited time and we wanted to see as much of the island as we could. Hence, shortly after our arrival in the hotel, we inquired if there were any tours available which we could book right there and then. The hotel staff informed us that private cab drivers could be hired for the day and that the driver would take us to the sights. He would drop us off at the attraction, we toured the place for the length we wanted while he waited for us. Then, once we were done touring the sight, he would take us to another and another. This was to happen the entire day. This was how we met our cab driver and guide, I Wayan Nala.

Anyway, our tour during our second day in Bali didn't begin until 9 am. We woke up early that day and since we had time in our hands, we left the hotel to tour more of Kuta.

These were the surfboards right at the shop of our hotel.

This was the colorfully and beautifully painted van at Mercure.

What is there to do in Kuta but surf.

Marc at Kuta Beach

Kuta Beach was a long crescent shaped beach right in the heart of the city.

There were hotels galore in Kuta and this was one of them. Forgot its name though.

There were many stores in Kuta too. We didn't really shop here although we visited the popular Matahari Department Store, Indonesia's version of Macy's. We also visited the Discovery Mall which was very modern and upscale.

Loved that many stores had these Balinese statues right by their entrances.

A temple, one of the very many in the city
