The Mercure Hotel Kuta

6-May-2017 • Bali Lesser Sunda Islands

Marc and I chose the Mercure Hotel for one reason. It is a known brand and we have stayed in a few Mercure Hotels in the course of our travels in Europe. The hotel was very close to the city center of Kuta. A mere 15 to 20 minute cab ride.

Rooms were not yet ready when we arrived to check in but the staff on hand found a room on the first floor for us. He did inform us that the bathroom didn't have any bath tub. It didn't matter to us at all and so we said, "Yes!" Upon entering the room though, we found out that it didn't have any windows. So off we went to the front desk once again and asked for another room. Since the rooms we still being cleaned, we were advised to just leave our suitcases at their storage so we could begin sightseeing in the city. Two hours later we returned and we were given a room on the fourth floor with windows and a balcony. We were pleased.

This was the pool on the fifth floor. It had a very nice view of Kuta Beach which was just right across the hotel.

Another view of the hotel pool. How I wish we were able to use it. We just didn't have enough time.

That's our room!

This was the open air lobby of the hotel.

This was the view from the back of the hotel.
