Unforgettable Reunions

4-Dec-2016 • Manila Philippines

While the main purpose of my recent trip to Manila was to attend my eldest nephew's funeral, I also made it a point to meet with classmates from high school and college. A number of them still live in Manila and they lead very happy and productive lives. Many of them even have grown up children although none are of marrying age yet. It sure was nice to meet up with them and reminisce. I must say, I have so much to thank Facebook for since it was through this social network did I get to connect with all of them after so many years. I sure would love to return to the Philippines and see them all once again as well as my other friends who I didn't get to see last week.

With my high school classmate and very good friend, Richard Redillas. He used to live in Los Angeles, California until he decided to return to Manila and take care of his parents and their family business.

Me with the girls! With Jing Peralta, Cherry Reinoso, and Tina Lejano. Actually, these girls now have other surnames but I don't know any of their husbands' last names. I still call them by their names just like when we were still in college. What a wonderful night it was! A night of good food, fun, and laughter. Hope to see these sweet girls again really soon.

With the one classmate I see each and every time I return to Manila, Ver Herce. A prominent Manila lawyer, Ver always takes me to the finest restaurants serving Filipino food each time we meet. This time around, we had lunch at the posh Visayan Bistro in Makati. What a fabulous place! Good thing he made a reservation for us on the day we met. The line of customers waiting to get in was long. Others were even turned away.

With Rowena Cabungcal Guce and Marizu Pigtain. What a sweet night it was as we talked about anything and everything. Til my return my loves!
