This welcome sign greeted all cruise passengers at the dock.

The shuttle driver to Mendenhall Glacier talked a lot about the Alaska State Capitol and how it lacked the dome which normally capped such buildings. It was undergoing renovation at the time of our visit and so we didn't get a decent shot of the landmark.
