Juneau, Alaska

5-Jul-2016 • Juneau Alaska

Juneau was our very first stop in Alaska. Although I did read about Mendenhall Glacier and it being a bus ride away from town, I had not done my homework properly prior to this trip and so I had no idea which sights to visit and not miss. Thankfully, most of the must sees where located in the city center and walkable from each other. I think Marc and I covered most of the sights. Of the week we spent in Alaska, the very first two days were the coldest. So cold, I actually had three layers of clothing on.

Our ship, the Holland America Line's MS Amsterdam had two constant companions during our weeklong cruise. They were Norwegian's Pearl and The Ruby Princess. This was one of the ships right behind us.

This was typical of the vegetation we saw in the many islands off the coast of Alaska.

This beautiful mural greeted ship passengers at the dock. It was pretty big!
