Our Damaged Suitcase
Marc and I were quite disappointed that our huge polycarbonate suitcase was damaged upon our arrival at the Jersey airport. To this day, it still boggles my mind how one of the rollers came off. Someone must have handled it so badly for our suitcase to come out like this. It was working fine up until we checked it in the airport in Liverpool, England.
To make matters worse, there was no one at the Easy Jet customer service desk at the Jersey Airport's arrivals area. Hence we could not talk to anyone and inform the airline staff about what had just happened.
Shortly before our departure from Jersey, we did speak to an airline employee and she told us that the airline did not reimburse for damaged suitcases with wheels. If such were the case, then no one will ever be compensated or reimbursed for any damaged suitcase even though it was the Easy Jet's fault. To think, all suitcases nowadays, at least a great majority of them, now have wheels.
To this day, we are still in the process of resolving the issue with the airline right from home here in San Francisco. How this will end up is anyone's guess.
Truth to tell, having a damaged suitcase didn't bother Marc nor I at all. We have so many suitcases at home. We did have to purchase one in St. Helier, in de Gruchy Department Store, to be exact so that we could still pack our clothes and go on with our trip. The new suitcase cost 64 pounds on sale roughly equivalent to US $100.
