Port Erin

6-Jul-2015 • Port Erin Isle of Man

It was past noon when we arrived at the Port of Erin from Castletown. We were greeted by two lady volunteers right on the platform who each gave us brochures and guides to their city.

It was very cold and gray when we arrived and we were hungry. Determined not to sightsee on an empty stomach, we looked for a place to have lunch. We didn't find many restaurants much less those that were open. We went inside one which had a lot of patrons. We've always believed that the more guests a place had the better it was. We never go inside empty or near empty food joints.

Standing next to the very vintage steam train we traveled on

This was the bar and restaurant Marc and I ate in. Marc had a burger while I had fish and chips.

Me at the bar waiting for my grub. The wait staff here was very pleasant and polite.

We saw some locals about to go boating.

We also some signs advising locals to inform authorities of any shark sightings.

There was a Railway Museum right next to the station. It was one of the town's major sights.

This house is said to be the oldest house in town dating back centuries.

All ready to leave Port Erin for Douglas
