St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin

1-Jul-2015 • Dublin Ireland

One must see for us in Dublin was St. Patrick's Cathedral. We weren't able to visit it during our first visit which is why Marc and I really made it a point to see it this time around. It was quite a hike from the city center but it wasn't altogether very difficult to reach.

There was an admission to enter. I believe we paid 20 Euros for the both of us. Anyway, we decided to go in since we were already there and we weren't exactly sure when we would return to Dublin, if at all.

We joined a tour provided by the churh staff. Our guide was a petite Filipina-American who did an excellent job of showing us around. I believe she was studying in Dublin for a limited time.

Anyway, we were very happy we joined the guided tour since it really pointed out to us the different aspects of the cathedral worth noting and remembering.

Visitors were encouraged to fill a card for people who knew anyone who fought in the past world or regional world wars. Since my dad took part in the Second World War in the Far East as well as the Korean War, it was a no brainer.

This was part of the floor which had one tile placed in the wrong direction. We were told that the builder made it that way since he believed that no one and nothing can be perfect but God.
