It is that time of year when some of my colleagues and dear friends have decided to retire after a lifetime spent teaching children. For a time, I hated the idea of people leaving, more so if I had a very close and good working relationship with them in school.

To this day, though, I don't know of any colleague who has retired and is not enjoying her retirement. The fact is, everyone is simply having a ball sleeping late, waking up when they want to, not worrying about testing, not having to check papers over the weekend, nor working on report cards.

I know many have picked up new hobbies or rekindled old ones. Some have begun going to the gym and working out on a daily basis, while others have simply increased the number of times they travel to different corners of the world.

I honestly can't wait for my turn. Hopefully in 30 years since I am only 31!
