What Can I Say?

I honestly thought silk flowers have gone out of style. I can still remember watching an afternoon talk show a few years ago which featured some of the country's famous interior decorators and designers and they were all unanimous in saying that silk flowers are a big no no.

For a long time, I was a fan of silk flowers. I suppose I still am but not just a huge one nowadays. They are undoubtedly pretty and colorful. "Why the big and strong opposition to them?" I wondered.

It was only when someone said, "Who wants to have something that literally gathers dust?" did I have a change of heart. "How true!" I told myself. The arrangement we had sitting on the vanity counter in our bathroom at that time had gathered so much too, I was sure my allergies would have killed me sooner or later had we not thrown it away.

A couple of days ago though, I saw some silk flower arrangements in San Francisco's Crate and Barrel, Gumps, and Neiman Marcus. I don't think I'll get any for my home but one thing is sure, they are so darn pretty and life like. I still get tempted to buy some every now and then.
