The Courtyard By Marriott on Julia Street, New Orleans

12-Apr-2015 • New Orleans United States

With our weeklong cruise to the Western Caribbean over and after disembarking from Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Dawn, Marc and I proceeded to the Courtyard by Marriott on Julia Street. It was a short two block walk from the cruise terminal. Our vacation was technically not over yet. We still had a day in New Orleans and it was here where we were going to spend Easter Sunday 2015.

Anyway,it was just 9 am when we arrived at the hotel and yet we were allowed to check in that early. Marc and I have been to hotels which were strict about the 2 or 3 pm check in and not a minute earlier. The Courtyard certainly earned points from me for this gesture. How I wish other hotels did the same thing especially when the rooms are ready anyway. Thanks to Marc's Marriott points, our stay was free.

Our room was huge. Actually, it is no longer a surprise. American hotels normally are. There was even a couch and a fridge.

The very hip lobby. I took these pictures at 5 am while waiting for our shuttle back to the Louis Armstrong Airport on my way back home to SFO. That explains the absence of hotel patrons and guests. It was way too early.

This was the hotel check in and out desk. Really small. The first time I saw it, I mistook it for the concierge desk.

There was no armoire to store the TV. No problem for me though.
