The Fire of Brazil
Last weekend, Marc, my partner, and I decided to try one food stall that recently opened in the food court at the basement of Westfield Mall. It served Brazilian food and we were so ready to try it. We got a mixed meat combination plate. We were served steak, chicken wrapped in bacon, rice with beans and vegetables, and banana plantains. It was delicious but I assume it was a bit Americanized. I wouldn't mind going back though. This led me to think of the number of Brazilian restaurants in the city which we need to try soon for more authentic Brazilian food.
While a graduate student in Madrid, Spain, I made friends with a number of Brazilians from Rio and Sao Paolo and I even shared an apartment with one wonderful young man named Ronaldo Pereira. He used to cook such delicious food. He often gave me one soupy dish with rice, beans, meats, and sausages called feijoada. It was heaven.
