Las Vegas and the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino

26-Dec-2014 • Las Vegas, Nevada United States

Las Vegas, Nevada was the city Marc and I chose as our destination for our Christmas holiday vacation. Although we have visited Las Vegas many times before, I was particularly excited to see it this time around. It's been seven long years since our last visit! I for a fact know of the many changes that have taken place in the famous City of Sin.

This was taken at PRIMM Outlet Mall on the California and Nevada stateline.

For this trip, we booked our room at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino both for its good reviews on Tripadvisor as well as its good rates. Both Luxor and Excalibur were actually cheaper. However, since both hotels only included internet service for an extra charge and on a daily basis at that, we eventually opted for TI. Our stay at the hotel of our choice gave us two free buffet meals as well as a 2 for 1 voucher for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The hotel's location couldn't be beat. It was right next to the Fashion Show Mall and across the street from the opulent and posh Wynn Resort as well as the Italian inspired Venetian.

While we were generally satisfied with the hotel room, there were two things which bothered me during our stay. First was the extremely limited internet connection. It seemed to cut off after two hours of use each day. To think, we chose Treasure Island primarily because it advertised internet access in its room. Little did we know it was only for a very limited time each day. Second, our room had the door which connected to an adjacent room. It was a good thing there were no people next door during our first two nights. However, during the third and fourth night, we were not as lucky. We could hear every word and noise the visitors made when we were back in the room at night. You can just imagine, they even had a toddler in there who played and screamed.

As far as the cleanliness of the guest rooms is concerned, I was very pleased. The hotel's common areas like the lobby and casino looked old and dated, the rooms, on the other hand, had been updated and kept clean and tidy.

I know I have said this before, but I just cannot get over the sizes of American hotel rooms. There is just so much space compared to hotels abroad. God bless America!
