Neuschwanstein Castle and the City of Fussen
On our return to Munich, Marc and I decided to visit the Neuschwanstein Castle. Although we had been to Munich many times before and had seen the Neuschwanstein Castle on each trip, we had never really entered its premises to see what's inside. Thus, on the day after our arrival, we bought our Bayern Ticket, and off we went together with the thousands of tourists in Munich that day. The train was literally packed with eager visitors bound for Neuschwanstein.
It rained like crazy and fortunately for us, our umbrellas saved us from getting drenched to the bones. To cut a long story short, for the nth time, we did not get to visit the castle premises.
When we were in line, staff for the castle were already informing people that the next earliest English language tour was scheduled at 6:30 pm. It was just noon time and already tickets had already run out so quickly. Right there and then, we left the line we had been in for over thirty minutes and decided to just explore the City of Fussen which was close by. We were very happy of the chance. Fussen was a pretty little city.
Fussen turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It was indeed a city worth visiting.
