Our First Italian Meal
On our first day in Rome, we ate in a restaurant right on bustling Via del Corso. We ordered linguine and calamari. The bill totaled 22 euros with two bottles of still water.
The place was full of people, a mix of locals and tourists. We didn't know how to go about ordering food in the beginning. The process turned out to be not so hard. First we told the servers behind the food counters what we wanted to eat. Next, The server got plates and filled them with the food we ordered. He heated the food up in a microwave and while the food was heating, he rang up our bill. We then had to take the receipt to a lady behind a cash register right opposite the counter who took the customers' payments. Once done, we went back to the counter to get our food. Tables were located in an adjacent dining room or up on the second floor. Marc and I just went to the next room.
Frankly, I thought the price was a bit too much for the amount of food we ordered. It was in a heavily touristed area and that we believe was the main reason why it was priced high.
