The Hungarian Museum of Technology and Transport

3-Nov-2012 • Budapest Hungary

My partner, Marc, is very fond of planes.  When he found out that there was a transport museum in Budapest, he suggested we visited it and that we did the Sunday afternoon we were in Hungary.  The museum was interesting.  It sure was nice to see some trains and vehicles used in Hungary in yesteryears.  However, it was very difficult to appreciate a great majority of the exhibits given that all signs were in Hungarian and there were no translations provided in any language.  At least, there was none in English I could remember.

The site looked more interesting from the outside than on the inside.  Pictures were not allowed indoors either so by the time I write this blog entry, I have literally forgotten most of what I had seen.  The following pics were taken of exhibits outdoors.

I found this exhibit of a train engine on one end of the Transport Museum quite impressive.

Marc took this picture of train cars while we were touring inside the museum.  It was a good thing no one saw. I knew it was prohibited to take pictures inside.  If any visitor wanted to take any pictures, one had to pay an exorbitant fee and then they would issue a sticker to be placed on the collar or lapel of one's shirt.
