New York in the Winter of 2002, Part 2

3-Jan-2010 • New York United States

Shortly before my return trip to San Francisco, Marc and I had lunch with my cousin and her daughter in Manhattan.

With Ruth, my first cousin, and her daughter, Jo Anne, both New York City residents.

Marc and I have stayed in a number of hotels in Manhattan but I just love the location of the Courtyard by Marriott in Midtown.  It is so centrally located and walking distance to many major sights and shopping.

Macy's East

This is Macy's in downtown Manhattan where the famous Thanksgiving Day Parade takes place every November

I have shopped in Macy's Department Store in Manhattan many times. Coming from San Francisco which also has a very big Macy's, I couldn't help but notice the very big similarity in the goods sold in both these stores despite being in opposite parts of the country. In fact, I hardly saw any difference. That's global economy for you.

Right in front of Macy's is a very small plaza where this monument can be found.
