The Mercure Hotel
We were very satisfied with our hotel in Naha. We chose it primarily for its location and accessibility by Monorail from the Naha Airport. It was in station no. 5. Actually, it was reviews on Tripadvisor from previous visitors that led us here. Check in was fast and easy. We were welcomed with cold sodas. We chose a can of Coke and an orange drink. We were given a room on the 11th floor. Apparently in Japan, many hotels no longer make the beds everyday. However, towels are replenished and trash cans are emptied on a daily basis. We did appreciate being given access to the hotel's main restaurant for late afternoon snacks. It was here where we ate soba, turtle rice crackers, sweet red potato tarts, and peanuts. Hot and cold drinks were plentiful.
I don't recall seeing any restaurants around the hotel. What we did find were a 7-11 and a Family Mart. It was in both convenience stores where we ate dinner the entire time we were in Naha. The Bento boxes were good and very inexpensive. The staff heated the food for us upon purchase and we sat at the store's dining area together with locals who chose to eat there too.
