Kadewe

I love to shop and since I do, I always make it a point to visit department stores in the cities I travel to. I visited Kadewe again on my recent trip to Berlin last June and I was surprised at the changes that took place inside the store. I have to say, it didn't impress me as much during my first visit back in 2012. This time though, it did. This time around, it exuded the wow factor I feel every time I visit the fanciest of department stores here in the US and San Francisco. In fact, we went in and dined at their rooftop restaurant several times during our stay. Needless to say, I loved it.

Happy to visit Kadewe again! It's been a while!

One of the many entrances to Kadewe Department Store. Like many department stores in the US, its floors are now subdivided into tiny boutiques run by different luxury brands like Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and the like. There is still a section devoted to fish and seafood but it didn't seem as big an area as it was back when I first visited. The fish with the mouths open sure were present and garnered chuckles from visitors and tourists alike.

My partner had to have one of his favorite dishes, the fried pork hock. It is one German dish we get whenever we are in Germany.

Of course, I had to have my fried pork hock myself! It was huge!

What design!

Bear statues, bear figurines, bear paintings, bear everything!

Here's looking at you kid!

My oh my! Those chocolates are to die for.

Artwork!

Oh those sweets!

Care for some macarons?

Kadewe reminded me of Harrods. It now had a number of restaurants and cafes inside.

Lots of luxurious goods here folks!
