Voodoo donuts are to Portland what sourdough bread is to San Francisco. While I was in the midst of a no sugar diet at the time of our visit, I couldn't control myself and bought one sinful indulgence during our second day in Portland.  I just couldn't let the opportunity pass by.  Voodoo donuts have become an institution.  I must have eaten 2000+ calories just from the apple fritter I ordered but I enjoyed it tremendously.

Mine was the apple fritter covered in peanut butter and chocolate showered with small sized kisses while Marc had a chocolate donut with peanut butter on top. They were decadent. The store was so popular people lined up around the block even before it opened.
