A trip to Budapest wouldn't be complete without a visit to Buda Castle and Fisherman's Bastion. Marc and I visited them one afternoon and we weren't disappointed. Despite the huge crowds, we still managed to visit the area with ease.
This is where we took the funicular to go up to Buda Castle.
This is the Funicular station at the top of the hill.
Castle Hill turned out to be bigger than I originally thought. Besides the Buda Castle and the Fisherman's Bastion, there were other buildings there too. It was a mini city within the city of Budapest. There were houses and condos up there too!
This was the building I saw right away upon exiting the funicular station up on Castle Hill.

Once up on the hill where the Buda Castle and the Fisherman's Bastion were, we could get views of other areas only the locals frequented like this church above.

The column in front of Matthias Church
Although it is not as elaborate as the Column of Plague in Vienna's busy shopping street, this column gives visitors the same impression.
