It Won't Be Long Now

18-Nov-2019 • San Francisco United States

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is literally just a few days away. The year sure went very fast. Well, the years always do, don't they? I never celebrated this wonderful event while I lived in the Philippines. It was only when I came to the US that I did. Well, only when my family came to the US decades ago did we begin celebrating it. We have so much to be thankful for. I have so much be thankful for. I have been very lucky. God has truly been kind to me. Like I told my partner yesterday, I have long achieved my goals in life. When I was young, I dreamed of studying in Europe. That I did for free when I was granted a scholarship to pursue my Masters degree in Spanish by the Government of the Kingdom of Spain. In fact, I graduated from Spain's most prestigious university, the Universidad de Salamanca 15 years ago. I myself am in disbelief that I own my beautiful home in San Francisco. Just think, in San Francisco, one of the most expensive cities in the entire country and which many people have had to reluctantly leave because it has become so unaffordable to live in. Who would have thought? Next, I get to travel very often. On my Instagram account, strangers leave comments on my posts telling me that they would love to live the life I do. Most importantly, I had the most loving and caring parents any child can ask for. Both my mom and dad passed away a long time ago but I delight in the memories of the heartwarming kindness and affection they showered me. I too have a wonderful partner and a good career.

I honestly cannot ask for more. I am truly, truly thankful.
