In Knightsbridge, Harrods and Trafalgar Square

16-Aug-2019 • London England

On this trip to London, I was determined to buy one thing and that was a Harrods tote bag. I bought one last 2015 during my last visit. The one I bought though wasn't the green bag for which the department store is known for. Back then I bought a very elegant black tote with the Harrods name embroidered on it. While I was happy with my purchase, deep inside, I felt I liked the green one better. Thus, on this trip, there was no ifs and buts. I was going to buy the green tote and buy it I did. In fact, I bought two. One from the store itself and another one in Heathrow Airport. The one I purchased from the airport was much less expensive. I thought the branch in the airport had a sale. The sales assistant told me that the merchandise in the airport store was duty free which explained the lower price.

Now that I have three, I plan to use them a lot as I shop in Union Square each and every time.

Here I was as I was about to enter Harrods Department store. It was nice to be back. How the culture in this store has changed. During my very first visit, security personnel didn't allow backpacks inside and photography was forbidden. All that has changed with the change of ownership. I was so glad with the policy change. Enough with the pretense, I say!!!

My friend Rina Dizon who visited me in London. We spent the entire day together shopping and touring the city.

After I bought my Harrods souvenir, we went down to the famous food hall. Everything looked very colorful in there. If only they weren't so pricey.

Chocolates and more chocolates!

More sweet stuff. Yummy!

And even more

Cakes!!!

Hams galore

Indian food

Here I was after I shopped in Harrods!

From Harrods, Rina and I took the subway to go to Covent Garden. We did go to Piccadilly Circus first where this picture was taken.

Next stop along the way to Covent Garden was Trafalagar Square. I was so thrilled to be back here. I never thought I'd be back so soon. Now, I'm even thinking of returning summer of next year. Oh how I love London! What an amazing city!

And another one. Rina, my long time friend from Madrid but who now resides in Bristol kept asking me to pose differently from my usual.
