The Tower, Church, and Museum of the Clerigos
Marc and I had no idea what to look out for and see in Porto. We didn't exactly read up on the city's sights and attractions before we traveled there. It was a friend from Instagram who strongly advised us to go to the Tower of Clerigos. WE sure were happy we did. We spent a great deal of time here during our first afternoon in the city.
I remember climbing up the steep stairs to go to the very top. The caveat though was the higher and the closer I got, the less space there was for people to get around. You can just imagine how hard it was for me to maneuver my way around the peak of the tower with all the tourists around me. Marc, in fact, had decided to stay behind in one of the lower levels of the tower. The number of visitors going up and down the narrow stairs was just too much for him. Anyway, the views from up above were quite impressive.
There was also a church inside which was ornately decorated. The museum had lots of religious artifacts on exhibit.
I remember purchasing a combo ticket here for the Clerigos, the Cathedral, the cathedral museum plus one more attraction whose name I can't recall. We only got to visit two sites. Since we were there over a weekend, the museum was closed on a Sunday. I personally wished we had more time to spend in Oporto but C'est la vie. As we always say, next time!
