Brussels

7-Mar-2019 • Brussels Belgium

It was so nice to return to Brussels last Christmas. My first visit took place over the summer and visiting Belgium in winter sure was a stark contrast. For one, it was freezing cold! This time around though, I stayed only for a day. I plan to return soon.

I was quite apprehensive visiting. I had read so many bad reviews about the city, citing it as dangerous. Nothing could be farther from the truth. It was safe and it looked it too! I really have to be careful next time I read about reviews about any city. Some do tend to exaggerate.

I found Brussels small in size but then again I may be mistaken. After all, I was there only for a day and visited just the core of the city center.

At the Royal Arcade which was full of chocolate shops. It was quite a sight.

I went inside this store. It had chocolates on all walls.

Waffles was another thing I had to try when I was in Brussels. We bought one right outside the main square and in front of the IBIS Hotel.

This was another chocolate store where I purchased some beautiful tins to place under my Christmas tree this year.

Inside the Grand Place. It was too bad it was cold and foggy when we went. It was quite a challenge to take pictures of facades of the beautiful buildings.

My vintage photo taken so many years ago during my first visit to Brussels in the summer time. Am I in the same spot as in the previous picture?
