The Cathedral of Seville
I know I said many times before that I would try to post more. But honestly, when the school year begins, I get so horribly busy. By the time I get home, I can hardly do anything else but rest.
I will try to blog more though. It sure is nice to reminisce and see all those beautiful places I took pictures of. Anyway, talking about travel, it was a delight to visit the Cathedral of Seville. Although it was my second time to visit this Andalusian city last July, I don't remember ever going inside the cathedral the first time I went nearly thirty years ago.
I must say, all Spanish cathedrals are huge, truly huge. I'm amazed. As of this writing, I can say I have been to a lot of cathedrals all over the world and it is easy to forget how each one looks as time passes. I suppose it's why we take pictures so we won't forget. if I were asked what Í remember the most about this place, I would no doubt say the tomb of Christopher Columbus. Golden altars I see everywhere in Spain and Portugal. But the tomb of Columbus, only in Seville.
I remember very clearly one classmate from South America exclaim rather indignantly, "All this gold came from our countries!" one time I went on a school excursion and visited Southern Spain. I could only nod and say, "True!"
Here's the Tomb of Christopher Columbus, inside the cathedral. I remember waiting a long time to take a picture of this historic monument inside the cathedral without anyone in front of or around it. I had to be quick in taking the picture since there were hundreds of tourists taking a quick snap of the monument just like me.
