Our Return to Spain from Gibraltar

2-Sep-2018 • Gibraltar Gibraltar

Around five thirty in the afternoon, Marc and I made our way back to the border and headed back to Spain's La Linea de la Concepcion where we were to take our bus back to Malaga. Along the way, we had to stop to make way for a British Airline plane as well as a private plane take off from the airport which was also the border control office. We had seen scenes of planes taking off from the same site on TV and Marc was just thrilled to witness it himself. Of course, I was too.

Upon crossing the border, we made our way to a local bar with the intent of getting dinner and eating our favorite, fried calamari. Unfortunately, the restaurant owner said that she didn't have any left and so we ended up eating in the nearby McDonald's a few steps from the border. It turned out fine. I ordered some chicken wings and they were quite good. Now if only chicken wings were served in our McDonald's in the US, I'd be a happy camper.

This was a shot of the people also waiting to cross the border as soon as the planes took off from the airport/border control office.

This was the private jet which took off after the BA flight we saw first.

This was the runway which we walked on and crossed to reach the Spanish side.

This was my last look at Gibraltar before crossing back to Spain. Hope to see you again soon!
