The Colombo Mall

20-Aug-2018 • Lisbon Portugal

I bet you've heard friends and family traveling abroad call rainy days as museum days. Well, on the day it was forecasted to rain in Lisbon, Marc and I decided to visit one of the malls in the city, the Colombo Mall. An easy metro ride from the Avenida de Liberdade, we only took one train and we didn't have to do any transfers.

This mall was one of the three we visited throughout our weeklong stay. Colombo was huge with lots of stores. I must say, the brands sold here were very familiar. That's globalization for you. To be honest, it felt like home. It was upscale and very modern. Later in the week, we likewise visited the Vasco de Gama where we had dinner. The place was super huge. I remember eating half of a roasted chicken with rice purchased from an Argentine restaurant and the food was AMAZING! The other mall we visited was located right in the city center. It wasn't big. Overall, I can spend days shopping in Lisbon. We didn't even get to visit the famous Amoreiras Mall. Next time, I say!

My lunch during our visit to the mall. We bought it from a stall serving Brazilian food. I ordered this dish thinking it had fish, bacalao, in it. Turned out it had sausage and pork in it. I didn't eat it. I don't eat pork nor beef you see.
