The Air and Space Museum Udvar Hazy Center
The last of the attractions we visited in Washington DC during our Christmas and New Year's vacation was the second Air and Space Museum outside Washington. We spent a considerable amount of time here. We weren't in a rush. It was our last day and as soon as we checked out of our downtown hotel in DC and checked in at our airport hotel in Virginia out sightseeing we went right away.
This museum was truly huge. Well, I suppose it had to be since it housed airplanes of all types. It had commercial planes and war planes too. Marc specifically wanted to see this place. I am an avid fan of airplanes but he is even more so.
What I liked the most about this museum was the Discovery Space Shuttle as well as the Enola Gay, the US war plane that dropped the H bomb over Hiroshima, Japan during the Second World War. What history!
