Teatro Colon

23-Jul-2017 • Buenos Aires Argentina

On our second to the last day in Buenos Aires, we decided to visit the Teatro Colon and join one of the tours. It was a bit pricey for our taste but we bit the bullet. We thought, "When would we go back?" Heaven only knows. Besides, it kept raining on and off outside and so it was the best time to do something indoors. Museum visits were high on our list that day.

The ticket that was first given us was conducted in Spanish. It was a good thing we saw it early otherwise, Marc would not have understood anything at all. The staff at the ticket sales was kind enough to change the tickets.

The guide was pretty good and spoke very good English. The theater I must say was impressive. It made me laugh when I found out that in the olden days, patrons had different entrances to the theater depending on their ticket. The least expensive ticket holders entered through the back and side doors while only the ones with the most expensive tickets entered through the main entrance, the same entrance people today enter regardless of their ticket price go through.

I am just so glad I don't live in a society that was as class conscious. At least, not anymore.
