If there is one thing I liked a lot about Buenos Aires, it was its architecture. Block after block had buildings with spectacular and ornately designed facades which reminded so much of Madrid. Back when I was a graduate student of Spanish in Spain, I had South American classmates who told me that Argentines didn't really consider themselves South Americans but Europeans. After having visited their city now, I understand why.
