On April 12, 2017, I finally made it to Bali. I had long thought and dreamed of visiting the place and I sure was very happy to have stepped foot on Balinese soil when I did. For our Bali vacation, Marc and I stayed at the Mercure Hotel in Kuta.

Upon our arrival we took a limo for 200,000 rupiah. In hindsight we thought we had paid too much for the ride from the airport to our hotel. We went to the booth that was right outside the immigration hall. To be honest, it wasn't much of a deal. In US dollars, the amount we paid was the equivalent of $16. I pay that amount on a daily basis when I take BART to work.

Anyway, we arrived safely at our hotel and we were definitely pleased by the location. Boy, it couldn't be centrally located enough. It was also right by KUTA beach.
