Erawan Shrine in Bangkok

25-Feb-2017 • Bangkok Thailand

Just last year, I believe there was a bomb that exploded near the Erawan Shrine in Bangkok. I had seen in on my first visit to Thailand but paid no attention to it. I brushed it off as just another shrine. Little did I know the Erawan Shrine was and is very, very important to the Thai people especially in the Thai capital. It is THE shrine in fact. Here many people came and continue to come to worship.

Just last week, while watching TV, a local Thai celebrity had wished for something and she promised she would dance at Erawan if and when her wish came true.

The Erawan Shrine is located by the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel at the Ratchaprasong intersection of Ratchadamri Road in Pathum Wan district. It is near the Bangkok Skytrain's Chitlom Station, which has an elevated walkway overlooking the shrine.

Me at Erawan, where else?
