Malling in Bangkok

11-Feb-2017 • Bangkok Thailand

After our trip to Yangon, Myanmar, Marc and I returned to Bangkok, Thailand for three more days before we finally returned to the US. This time around, we explored some of the malls close to our hotel. The MBK was one we missed early on. I had visited this mall during my first visit but I remembered very little. MBK turned out to be a shopper's paradise where lots of merchandise was sold from Thai handicrafts to popular brand knock offs. What I do remember was the absence of the fake LV wallets and bags which used to be sold by the hundreds during my very first visit.

Inside the MBK

The lady seller at this stall laughed when I posed in front of her goods. She couldn't believe anyone would actually find her spot instagrammable. I certainly did. See how colorful the background is!

Since it was Christmastime when Marc and I visited, many stores and malls were all decked out for the holidays even though the Christmas celebration didn't really go any further than the decorations. This was the tree in front of the MBK Mall which was so nicely lit at night.
