The Sule Pagoda
The Sule Pagoda was a mere block away from our hotel, The Sule Shangrila. Given its proximity to where we were staying, Marc and I decided to visit it last among the sights in Yangon. The Pagoda and temple were definitely a sight to behold. It wasn't as big as the Shwedagon but it was beautiful just the same. Just like all the temples we visited, we had to wear our longyi and take off our shoes and socks. This time around, it was a bit challenging to walk around the pagoda because the sun's rays have made the floor on the premises too hot to step on It was quite hilarious I say.
After looking at all the pictures I took of all the pagodas, I must admit, they all begin to look the same. The pagodas are all gilded and they are all ornately decorated.
How I wish I were back in Myanmar! Now knowing that it is only an hour and fifteen minutes away from Bangkok, I will surely return in the future. With the exception of the hotel, everything else was cheap. Dirt cheap if you ask me.
