San Francisco's House of Prime Rib

If one were to ask me a very good place to eat steak in San Francisco, I suppose I would say the House of Prime Rib along Van Ness Avenue. I personally do not eat a lot of steak nor beef, especially with my new diet. However, I do know people who come to this place for a good taste of one. If Anthony Bourdain, the famous TV personality with travel and food shows, came here and was delighted with what he ate, then it must mean something good.

I have met some people who insist that people who eat steak need to eat it raw and no other way. I have for years eaten mine very well done and have loved it. I just feel that if I were to eat my steak raw, why even bother go to the restaurant? I could just defrost the slab of meat I bought from the supermarket and eat it straight away blood included. Pardon my exaggeration, but, that's just how I feel. I think people can eat their food any way they want and if they are paying for their own meal, they can very well ask it cooked the way they darn well please.

The House of Prime Rib, pricey but apparently well worth it.

I liked this etching on the door of a man cutting meat. Hope you can see it.
