Have loads of fun and barrels of Guinness on this very special day, St. Patrick's Day!
I must say, I have never celebrated as many ethnic holidays as much as I have here in the USA. I guess, it very well comes with the territory. The country is so diverse, more so now when people from every nation in the world call this amazing land home, not just the Irish.
Marc and I planned on watching the St. Patrick's Day parade along Market Street last Saturday but we had a change of heart due to the on and off rain. We taped the event on DVR instead and watched it on TV afterwards.
March 17 is such a special day!
Taken in the school where I taught second grade for many years. Here I was wearing my paddy hat (still with the tag on it) which I purchased in Dublin. the year prior. How I miss Ireland.
There is no doubt Ireland is one of the greenest places I have ever seen and I mean that literally here folks. Taken last June 1997.
A trip to Dublin is never complete without a stop at its most famous Post Office along O'Connell Street, the site of the Easter Uprising for Irish independence against the British last 1916. Taken last June 1997 during my very first and unforgettable visit to the capital of the Irish Republic.
Memories, memories. A view of the memorial statue of Sir John Gray on O'Connell Street, my most favorite street in Dublin. Taken on my most recent visit to the city, June 2015.
In Dublin here with a view of the Ha Penny Bridge crossing the River Liffy in downtown Dublin, June 2015.
I am sure the water of this famous river will be very, very green today.
