Today was a big day for San Francisco. Super Bowl City opened its doors to everyone interested in seeing what the venue for America's biggest sporting event was going to be like in the next few weeks. Was it teeming with people! It was good that there was space to walk around in.
I am not a fan of many sports games but I couldn't pass up on the opportunity to take part in this special event about to be held in my adopted hometown Thousands of fans from all over the country have already arrived and more are expected to come. From the looks of it, it will be a huge success. The crowd at the waterfront said it all.
Entering the site felt very much like going through security in airports. There were two types of lines for visitors. One for people with
bags and another one for people without. I had to empty my pants' pockets and had to go through a metal detector.
Here I was about to enter Super Bowl city. It was exciting.
The CNN booth
I bumped into two teachers I work with in the East Bay. Here I am with Emilia Martins who I have worked with my entire teaching career.
The CBS site within the city.
This very friendly and happy emcee welcomed visitors to the CBS attraction.
The crowd in the city!
This guy was very popular! There was a line of people wanting to have their pictures taken with him.
As we left the venue, we saw more people in line waiting to enter the premises.
Right outside the city we saw the FOX news channel affiliate in the Bay area setting up their office and booth.
