New Year's Eve

1-Jan-2016 • San Francisco United States

It was New Year's Eve yesterday and it was a very festive time in San Francisco. People were everywhere and many restaurants began filling up with people dressed for their respective New Year's Eve parties as early as 8:30 pm. Marc and I walked to the Embarcadero, the site of the yearly fireworks display, early in the evening to have a feel of the oncoming celebrations as well as the preparations for the event. Reporters from various TV networks were plentiful and ready to telecast the event live. We had been here a few times before for the coming of the new year and this year we decided to watch the fireworks from the comfort of our home precisely through our living room window. We couldn't be happier. We were warm and comfortable.

I initially thought the year 2015 was the number emblazoned on the Embarcadero Tower. Little did I know it was 50 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Superbowl which will be held in San Francisco in February 2016.

Here I was at the waterfront enjoying the last hours of 2015.
