The Inner Temple

When Marc suggested that we enter the area where the Inner Temple was, I immediately said yes believing it was another new place for us to see and visit. Little did I realize we had been there before. In fact, I had my picture taken right in front of the church last 1997.

The Honorable Society of the Inner Temple, commonly known as the Inner Temple,is one of the four Inns of Court (professional associations for barristers and judges). To be able to practice in England and Wales, individuals must belong to one of these Inns.

We did see a lot of lawyers here. I couldn't help but notice their suits and how elegant they all looked. It just wasn't something I often see especially in my adopted hometown of San Francisco. Back home, office folk prefer to dress down, and the preferred attire is t-shirt and jeans.

I really couldn't help notice how well dressed the men who worked here were. They were such impeccable dressers. I suppose if one were a lawyer or a judge, one had to dress to be taken seriously in this country given their culture steeped in tradition.
