Thanks to the big Russian population in San Francisco, there are a number of Russian restaurants and eateries along Geary Avenue and Clement Street.

One place Marc and I go to for Russian desserts is the Moscow and Tbilisi Bakery. We have been coming to this place for years and each time we visit, we always get the potatoes made of chocolate and nuts. They are delicious.

After having visited and eaten quite a bit in the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania) where literally hundreds of thousands of Russians reside, we can honestly say these treats are authentic.
